About Bored Buddy
It started with two familiar words…
“I’m bored.”
Every parent, carer and educator knows what usually comes next: requests for a screen, a frantic search for something to do, or an activity requiring twelve supplies you definitely don’t have.
But boredom isn’t necessarily a problem.
Sometimes, it’s the beginning of something wonderful.
A ridiculous family challenge. A backyard discovery. A new creation. A burst of confidence. A moment together that nobody planned—but everyone remembers.
Bored Buddy was created to make those moments easier to find.
Created with children—and parents—in mind
Bored Buddy was founded by Leigh Andrews, an educator and youth leader with more than 20 years of experience helping children learn, explore and grow.
After working with children in classrooms, community programs, sporting teams and youth groups, Leigh saw the same truth repeatedly:
Children don’t need every moment planned for them.
Sometimes, they just need the right invitation.
Bored Buddy brings that invitation to families in a practical, playful and parent-friendly way.
What we’re building
Our vision is to create a trusted family adventure companion—one that understands the moment, recommends something genuinely useful and then gets out of the way.
Because success isn’t measured by how long families spend inside our app.
It’s measured by what happens after they put the device down.
